Business: at the heart of Newesk’s future
Already established as home to more than 30 Scottish, UK and international companies and their operations, Edzell Business Base provides some 125 hectares (308 acres) of land for industry, complementary to the creation of the Newesk sustainable village.
Carnegie Base Services aims to help address the general shortage of high-quality business accommodation in Aberdeen City and Shire, and north Angus which continues to stifle growth and limit new employment opportunities in the region, through the ongoing development of the site.
Providing quality land in locations which work for business is vital to Scotland's regions, if they are to meet their vision for long-term, sustainable diversification including securing corporate headquarters and high quality businesses operating in niche sectors.
The business park element of Newesk will further build on the existing success of Edzell Business Base, established in 2000 and now home to major international companies including Peterson SBS, Geokey, Hunting and Vetco Gray.
At present Edzell Business Base features 263,000 square-feet of let office, warehouse and industrial accommodation and 27 hectares (67 acres) of open storage, with planning permission for continued development already in place for the entire 125 hectare site, including approval for a further 70,000 square-feet of warehousing space.
